This is a song about my best friend, and how as kids we were the kids who would spend our weekends going to diners and ordering nothing but coffee and sitting there for hours getting refills. We probably pissed off a lot of waitresses considering we were bad tippers too. There was this one winter where the rest of our friends had gone off to college and it was just the two of us, we didn't really do much other than skateboard and drink coffee but it was one of the best times of my life. As we got older we began to drink and explore partying and we are still best friends and I've had a lot of friends come and go but Steve Maddi is like a brother to me. I'll love this kid till the day I die and whether he lives in Long Island, Pennsylvania, or around the corner from me he will always be my best friend.
lyrics
I lived for those winter nights where we'd sit in my car and appreciate the moonlight.
We always drank coffee and we always sipped it slow because neither of us ever wanted to go.
That winter really sucked it was just you and me and now I couldn't be anymore happy because you are my best friend and at times it can be hard but long islands only an hour if I take my car.
The coffee turned to tall boys and our cars became our feet.
The winter nights keep coming as we roam around these streets.
The beers will keep us warm and we'll never have to sleep because you are my best friend and I'll love you till I die.
Great, thrashing, melodic indie rock from this Illinois group that juxtaposes sugary vocal hooks with barbed guitars. Bandcamp New & Notable May 28, 2022
